Daytona Beach is One of the Best Places to Compete

Daytona Beach is known worldwide as “the place” to go to see racing, yet that is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to competition in the area. Not only is it the US headquarters of NASCAR, but it is also the headquarters of the LPGA and home to the Florida Tennis Center. The "World Center of Racing" and one of the longest beaches in the state, Daytona Beach is the place to go to enjoy sports. Whether you are competing or simply watching, you will find the beautiful weather and welcoming community in Daytona Beach makes the ideal place for sports.

The Place to Compete
When you move to Daytona, you will realize that this area is the place where competitions and tournaments are regularly hosted. What is it about the community that draws these types of events? For one, accommodations are easily found in and around the area. Daytona Beach has over 200 hotels with around 12,000 rooms to welcome out of town guests to the beach for competitions.

Daytona Beach also has an ample number of venues to welcome these tournaments. Consider the Daytona International Speedway for motor sports, the Ocean Center for indoor sporting events of all types and Jackie Robinson Stadium for baseball and outdoor sporting events. The Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium, Oceanfront Bandshell and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University also make excellent locations for sporting events. Add to this the multiple professional-level golf courses, and Daytona Beach is the ideal place to host a tournament. The Florida Tennis Center rounds out the offerings at Daytona Beach for sports enthusiasts.

Finally, the community’s year-round warm weather is what makes it an appealing destination for sporting events. Even in the dead of winter, people can travel to the area to play their sports under the warm Florida sunshine.

The Place to Watch
Spectator sports are numerous in Daytona Beach.  NASCAR racing and other motor sports are one of the most common spectator sports, and the Daytona 500 is one of the most popular events of the year. The Daytona International Speedway also hosts the Rolex 24 at Daytona, a 24-hour endurance race.

The area is also home to the Daytona Cubs, a Class A Advanced Affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. If you want to see professional-level baseball in a historically significant stadium, plan to catch a game or two.

Daytona Beach FL offers much for the sports enthusiast. If you love sports, you will love life in Daytona Beach. As you start looking for a new home, contact the team at Watson Realty Corp to help.
